California’s economy is improving, but it is not as strong or sustainable today as it must be in the future. If our economy is to grow and meet the needs of all our people, we must make job creation and business expansion a top priority.

Because of his enthusiastic support of private sector job creators and innovative ideas about the best ways to keep our state economy moving forward, Eric received a lifetime A Rating from the California Chamber of Commerce.

But his leadership goes beyond the voting record – Eric has used his professional experience and unique business perspective to consistently stand out as one of the Capitol’s strongest voices for hardworking Californians and stop job-killer legislation from stifling our economic recovery. He worked to successfully stop new taxes on businesses and roll back regulations that make it much harder to create high-wage jobs. And, he has helped lead the fight to protect Proposition 13.

Linder has also worked to make California more competitive and has fought to keep businesses in the state. Every California entrepreneur and job creator must be encouraged to not only remain in the Golden State, but helped to expand and produce even more opportunity for people looking for work. Eric knows that the state must eliminate red tape and reduce excessive regulatory burdens. That is why he has consistently encouraged the state to streamline approvals for companies that want to increase their operations as well as assist businesses in navigating permit process and licensing procedures throughout the state.

Eric’s fundamental belief is that government should work in cooperation with the business community, not in opposition to the private sector. He went to Sacramento to change the way that California does its own business and treats business leaders.

For years, residents of the Inland Empire have suffered the endless gridlock with some of the state’s worst traffic problems. Every day, thousands of motorists are forced to waste hundreds of hours sitting in traffic – time that is much better spent at home with family. For far too long, state officials have failed to effectively deal with these problems and put in place realistic plans to keep the Inland Empire moving.

More important than Eric’s service on the Assembly Transportation Committee are the countless hours he spent commuting for work on the 91 freeway, seeing firsthand the neglect that has occurred on our highways. Eric knows that in every way this is a quality of life issue that demands creative and cooperative long-term solutions.

In 2010, then-Assemblyman Jeff Miller authored AB 2098, which brought new options to expand the 91 Freeway on-time and under budget. Eric Linder expanded on that success, reaching across the aisle to co-author AB 401 (Daly, D- Anaheim) – bringing that kind of solution to freeway projects across the state, including the 15 Freeway.

Transportation requires us to not only focus on the problems of today, but to always look to the future. Eric is working every day to make sure that for today’s residents and future generations, the Inland Empire keeps moving forward.
