(Corona, CA) – Today, Eric Linder announced the endorsement of the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association. The association represents the men and women principally responsible for protecting all the residents, tourists, and visitors to Riverside County. It’s over 2,200 members are responsible for maintaining the County’s five jail facilities, serving it’s court system, and protecting the public through operations out of ten patrol stations.
“Eric Linder is the only candidate for Riverside County Supervisor District 2 who has made public safety his number one priority. We interviewed both candidates carefully, and chose to endorse Eric Linder because he is committed to making sure we can take the fight to the criminals while protecting our communities,” stated Bill Young, president of the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association.
“I believe the first job of local government is keeping our community safe. The Riverside Sheriffs Association is the front line in the fight against the kind of violent crimes that destroys lives. I’m proud to accept their endorsement and will work to make sure they have all the resources they need to do their job and do it well,” responded Eric Linder.
Linder has a strong record of leadership in his community. Before being elected to the State Assembly, he co-founded the Corona Taxpayers Association. As a member of the State Assembly, Eric Linder made public safety a top priority by fighting for adequate funding for law enforcement and championing measures to help give these professionals the tools they need. He has authored legislation to enact tougher penalties on sex offenders and ensure that truly dangerous criminals are not released early due to overcrowding. In 2014, Crime Victims United of California named Eric Linder Legislator of the Year for leading the fight to hold organizations that have turned a blind eye to sexual abuse accountable.
